If your offices are in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, or Eastern Europe and you’ve been in touch with Pouliquen, then you’ve already met her. The “her” in question is Emmanuelle Bosser, Pouliquen’s Northern and Eastern Europe sales representative for the past 16 years. Learn more about her role in our company and her career path, from her beginnings in the export industry to today.
Specialist in fresh vegetable export
Emmanuelle has always worked in the vegetable distribution sector. After completing her training in Applied Foreign Languages, she obtained a Master’s in International Business and Agri-food Marketing. Following her studies, during which she spent a year in Manchester (UK), she was hired as the France and export sales representative for a tomato producer near Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany). After this initial experience, she returned to her native Finistère and joined the Pouliquen team as the sales representative for Northern and Eastern Europe.
Advising and monitoring for the fresh vegetable market
Every morning, along with Pierre-Yves, our auction buyer, Emmanuelle buys and sells vegetables as well as the shallots and onions ordered by her customers. But her role doesn’t end there! Over the years, she has acquired a thorough knowledge of both the market and her customers’ expectations. Therefore, in close collaboration with Pierre-Yves and the rest of the sales team, she monitors the evolution of the fresh vegetable market. In this way, she is able to advise her customers and present them with offers that meet their expectations in terms of variety, quantity, calibre and price.
At Pouliquen, teamwork is our guiding principle
What Emmanuelle appreciates most about the company is its atmosphere and organisation model. “We’re all on the same team. The company values are simple, and we all help each other out.”
Because Pouliquen has a horizontal management structure, every team member is able to propose initiatives. Teamwork is also an integral part of the company’s organisational model. So just as Emmanuelle works closely with Pierre-Yves on purchasing, the same applies to David, our logistics manager, or Loïc, our quality manager. This way of working enables reactivity and helps us to better meet our customers’ needs. In the same way, all our employees pitch in to help with production tasks (packing, labelling, etc.) when the volume of orders requires additional staff. “Working here is not just the same old thing day in, day out. Every morning is like a fresh page.”
A passion for languages
Emmanuelle is fluent in German and English as well as French, her mother tongue. Since she was young, she has had a passion for languages.
“I was almost born in Africa. My father was working abroad. My family and I arrived in Nigeria when I was 1 year old. We lived there for 4 years. After that, we came back to France, but my father continued working in other countries, including Morocco and Greece. I think it’s partly this that fed my interest in other cultures.”
If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting her, you can find Emmanuelle at the upcoming Fruit Logistica trade show in Berlin. Until then, feel free to get in touch with her and let her know what you need.
