Since 2019, Pouliquen has been a partner of Stade Brestois 29, the local football team that has qualified for the European Cup for the first time. A historic achievement that makes the company even prouder of this long-standing partnership.
Why did Pouliquen decide to support Stade Brestois 29? What does this partnership mean for the company? Gérard Quillévéré, head of Pouliquen, tells us all about it in this interview.
Why have you chosen to support Stade Brestois 29 in 2019?
Gérard Quillévéré: I wanted to get Pouliquen involved with a local sports club. Stade Brestois 29 is a big name in North Finistère. So it seemed fairly obvious that the company would partner this club.
But Pouliquen is also a partner of other local players, particularly in events. For example, the company supports local sports associations in football, handball and running, the Pist’Ribil electronic music festival, run by young people from the region, and the Vieilles Charrues festival in Central Finistère, which is the biggest festival in France and one of the biggest in Europe.
What values do Pouliquen and Stade Brestois 29 share?
GQ: Stade Brestois 29 relies on its local partners to develop, in all humility. Respect for people, and in particular for partners, is also strong at Stade Brestois 29. Humility, respect and loyalty are also values that we uphold at Pouliquen. The partnership with Stade Brestois 29 makes sense to us.
How do Pouliquen employees perceive this partnership? What links do they have with Stade Brestois 29?
GQ: Football is a popular sport that allows employees to get involved in sporting events. This is even more the case in good years, as is the case this season.
As far as the link between the Stade and the employees is concerned, we offer each employee the chance to attend at least one match during the season. This is a moment they can share with their family or friends, as they wish. This partnership has been very well received.
Stade Brestois 29 has made history with its first qualification for the European Cup, in the Champions League. What are your expectations as a partner?
GQ: Our loyalty to Stade Brestois 29 has been rewarded this year. Our local team is going to meet some of the biggest teams in Europe: Milan, Madrid, London, Munich, Barcelona… where our customers are present. It’s pretty cool.
Every year, they fight to stay in the 1st division. It’s a huge step!
We have high hopes for this team, not to mention the result. We hope that it will give Brittany a great image abroad and that it will make all our partners and employees proud. It’s a fantastic shared adventure. But we’re going to live this extraordinary adventure with our feet firmly on the ground. It’s always a question of humility.
